Inauguration of Dhola Sadiya Bridge on 26th May, 2017

Dhola Sadiya is one of the longest bridges in India so far. Dhola district is located in Assam state in Tinsukia District. The Dhola Sadiya Bridge connects two districts Dhola and Sadiya. The length of this bridge is 9.5 kilometers. The main aim of formation of this bridge was to reduce the travel time or distance between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. This Dhola Sadiya Bridge is constructed over Lohit River and it connects two states by reducing a travel time of 04 hours.

The formation of this bridge started from Dhola district Assam and went up to Sadiya district Assam, the construction time of this bridge was approximately 6 years as the construction started in 2011 and ended in 2017. Public will be able use this Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in June month of 2017. The construction of this bridge was started by the endless efforts of Ministry of Road Transport.

The Dhola-Sadiya Bridge is also considered as “The Bridge of Hope” as it connects 2 states with each and is ultimate example of perfect architecture. This bridge is a result of dedication and work of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in public private partnership with Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd. The project costed approximately 10.00 billion rupees.

Apart from increasing the connectivity, it has several other benefits as well:

  • It will enhance tourism.
  • It will increase the border trade between the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
  • The health and educational facilities will be geared up.
  • The transportation will be increased.

The inauguration of this incredible bridge will be done by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi who always has a vision of a developed and digital India. However, there are several bridges in India but this bridge holds special importance because of its architecture and infrastructure. Another very essential aspect about this bridge is it relevance and closeness to nature because here you can clearly witness the dominance of nature. By the help of Dhola Sadiya Bridge you can visit all the national parks and historic monuments of Assam as well as Arunachal Pradesh.
